All News

With a snowstorm expected to begin overnight, please be advised that UConn Health is expecting to remain open and operational on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, except for a few very limited areas.

All employees are to report to work as scheduled and required unless otherwise directed by their supervisor. For this winter storm, supervisors are encouraged to permit employees to telecommute on Tuesday if the supervisor determines it meets operational needs and there is work that can be performed remotely. As a reminder, those who are on a telecommuting arrangement are expected to maintain their schedule in accordance with their agreement.

Support for Employees. Work with your supervisor if you need a place to sleep or wait for your shift to start, especially Tuesday morning first shift and night shift employees for this specific winter storm. If needed, the Nursing Supervisor at ext. 1031 can help reserve a sleeping space for you in advance.

Showers are also available if needed. Any UConn Health employee in need of a shower bathroom can use their badge to access the Wellness Center’s showers starting tonight through Wednesday morning, or can use the Outpatient Pavilion’s first floor showers.

Parking Ban (updated). To allow for snow removal from the roadways, surface lots and garage rooftops, a parking ban is in effect from 5 p.m. Tuesday through 5 a.m. Wednesday. Please park in the covered levels of Garages 1, 2 or 3, and not the surface parking lots or along the roadways. Important Note: This applies to the primary Farmington campus only, including upper and lower campus. It does not apply to 16 and 5 Munson Road, the Exchange, 195 Farmington Avenue, the Cell and Genome Sciences Building (400 Farmington Avenue), or the UConn Health buildings on South Road. For all parking details and the latest parking updates visit health.uconn.edu/closing-and-cancellations.

Please visit health.uconn.edu/closing-and-cancellations for the latest information, and the Operational Status Hotline number is 860-679-2001 (In the event of a power outage, the backup number is 860-486-9292).
