COVID-19 Self-Monitoring Required for All Workforce Members
UConn Health’s policy requires those who work at UConn Health to continuously self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and exposures, and that they follow UConn Health guidelines if they test positive for COVID-19, experience a high-risk COVID-19 exposure, or have new or worsening COVID-19 symptoms.
This policy applies to all workforce members including all UConn Health employees, volunteers, medical staff, trainees, contract workers, and any individual receiving a UConn Health-issued badge.
Workforce members who have a high-risk exposure, have new or worsening COVID-19 symptoms, or test positive for COVID-19 should not enter our facilities, and should call the COVID-19 Call Center at 860-679-3199 for guidance. Also, expect to follow the online workplace guidelines including the available COVID-19 Decision Charts.
A high-risk exposure means being less than 6 feet away from an individual with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period while at least one person is unmasked.
COVID-19 symptoms include, but are not limited to, the following new or worsening symptoms, not related to another condition:
- Feeling feverish or a measured temperature greater than or equal to 100.0°F
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- New loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion or runny nose
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
