Guidelines for Vendors, Suppliers, and Business Partners
Vendors, suppliers, and other business partners (referred to as ‘vendors’ for purposes of these guidelines) are permitted entry to UConn Health, but must comply with UConn Health’s COVID-19 safety protocols as outlined below.
Applicability
These guidelines apply to vendors, suppliers, business partners and other individuals who require one-time or short-duration visits to UConn Health or who provide one-time or limited-duration services, repairs, or construction or who are not required to enter any UConn Health building but who are otherwise on or require access to UConn Health’s grounds or campus.
These guidelines do not apply to individuals on contract who have been issued UConn-Health badges. In addition to following the COVID-19 safety protocols outlined below, individuals on contract to provide services in UConn Health facilities are subject to UConn Health’s Mandatory Vaccination Policy, meaning that they must be fully-vaccinated with a primary series vaccination or have an approved exemption from vaccination for COVID-19, in order to work at UConn Health.
On-Site Vendor Expectations
The department hosting the vendor is responsible for ensuring that these guidelines are followed.
- When visiting any UConn Health facility, vendors must adhere to all safety protocols, including adhering to UConn Health’s Mask Protocol, social distancing, and hand-hygiene guidelines.
- Vendors must complete entry screening before conducting ANY activities including Vendor Mate Badging, Materials Management sign-in, deliveries, and other duties.
- Vendors must NOT report to any UConn Health facility for business purposes if:
- Fever (100°F or higher) or chills
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fatigue
- Muscle or body aches
- Headache
- Recent loss of taste or smell
- Sore throat
- Congestion
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Vendors must only enter through one of UConn Health’s approved public entrances:
- Main Building Entrance
- University Tower Lobby Entrance
- Emergency Department (outside business hours only)
- Outpatient Pavilion (Floors 1 and 3)
- Musculoskeletal Institute (Floor 1)
- Off-site ambulatory services locations – public entrances only
These guidelines will continue to be updated based on current conditions and guidance from federal and state health agencies.
