1. All site and building drawings (architectural, mechanical and electrical) for new construction and/or renovation work at UConn Health shall be produced utilizing AUTOCAD 2002 or early version up to and including AUTOCAD r.14. There shall be two (2) record files provided and each shall be; 2-D, layered in accordance with UConn Health standards as provided in Appendix A and shall conform to UConn Health labeling and set-up standards. Assignment of room numbers shall be obtained from UConn Health. A sample diskette shall be provided by UConn Health upon request. Work done in other software shall not be accepted.
2. The method of input shall be by "precision input" dimensionally. Dimensions shall not be forced. All plotted drawings must be scalable. Input by digitizing or scanning shall not be accepted.
3. For each room or architectural space created or edited, an “AREA” defining closed polyline boundary will be created that has been generated from the interior face of each room or space. These boundaries shall have been drawn to conform to the UConn Health standards as defined by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) – Postsecondary Education Facilities Inventory and Classification Manual, November 1992, NCES 92-165, or most current edition. In addition to the “AREA” boundaries described above, as required, a closed polyline boundary shall be created or edited to define the overall “GROSS” area boundary of each building and floor plan. Each set of boundary, both “AREA” and “GROSS,” shall be on the appropriate layer, as defined in Appendix A.
4. UConn Health will provide upon request, a rewritable CD (CD-RW) disk or diskettes containing the existing architectural CAD files (Drawbase 5.0 or AutoCAD 2002) of the areas to be modified under the scope of the project. The architect and/or engineer shall be responsible for the field verification of existing conditions and shall change the drawing files accordingly. Field verification of structural column locations, plan changes, plumbing fixture changes, etc. shall be noted on the architectural drawings.
- 4.1. Updated drawing files shall be submitted to UConn Health. The drawing files shall be transmitted to UConn Health by means of either of the following; CD-RW, or a 3-1/2 inch Double Sided/High Density Diskettes - IBM formatted or a 250mb zip disk for Iomega zip drive.
- 4.2. The verified field conditions drawings shall serve as a base for the preparation of the project documents. The Architect’s consulting Engineers shall obtain base drawings (existing conditions as well as design drawings) from the Architect. UConn Health does not have plumbing, mechanical and or electrical engineering drawings in CAD format.
5. Upon completion of the approved Contract Documents, the consultant shall provide for UConn Health drawing files plotted on 22" x 34", 24" x 36" or 30" x 42" reproducible mylar of each drawing file created at a scale appropriate to the project, but no less than 1/8" = 1'-0" for building plans and/or 1" = 200' for site plans.
6. Following completion of project construction, the Architect shall provide “As-Built” conditions drawings (refer to above for acceptable format to be used) to UConn Health. The drawing files shall be transmitted to UConn Health by means of either of the following; CD-RW, or a 3-1/2 inch Double Sided/High Density Diskettes - IBM formatted or a 250mb zip disk for Iomega zip drive.
